Tampereen Ilves osallistuu Spengler Cupiin 26.–31.12.2026 Davosissa, ja kyse on vasta seuran toisesta osallistumisesta turnaukseen. Edellinen kerta oli vuonna 1972, jolloin Ilves sijoittui kolmanneksi — eli paluu tapahtuu 54 vuoden tauon jälkeen. Vuoden 2026 turnauksen muut joukkueet ovat HC Davos, Adler Mannheim, U.S. Collegiate Selects, Frölunda HC ja SCL Tigers.
